Payments and settlement

The short answer: your customers' money goes to you. MlimiPay does not hold or custody partner funds.

Two ways to receive payments

Option A

Your own merchant wallet

For partners with an Airtel Money or TNM Mpamba merchant wallet.

  1. Customer pays by USSD or MlimiPOS
  2. Payment goes straight to your merchant wallet
  3. MlimiPrepay receives the confirmation and credits the customer's prepayment account

MlimiPay never touches the money.

Option B

MlimiPay gateway wallet

For partners without a merchant wallet, or who want to start straight away.

  1. Customer pays by USSD or MlimiPOS
  2. Payment lands in the MlimiPay gateway wallet
  3. It is swept automatically and immediately to your bank account

A momentary pass-through only. No balances are kept for you.

Not a lending product

MlimiPrepay has no lending, credit or interest component. Customers prepay gradually for inputs that already exist in your stock. Fulfilment remains your responsibility under your own refund policy.
